IIT- JEE Course Training
What is IIT JEE?
The Indian Institutes of Technology Joint Entrance Examination (IIT JEE) is a prestigious engineering entrance examination held annually in India. It is a gateway for students aiming to secure admission into the esteemed Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and other top engineering colleges. The exam is split into two phases: JEE Main and JEE Advanced. JEE Main is the preliminary test that filters candidates for JEE Advanced, which is the final step for admission into the IITs. The examination challenges students with a rigorous test of their understanding in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, reflecting the high academic standards expected at the IITs.
Who are eligible for IIT JEE?
Eligibility for JEE Main includes candidates who have completed or are appearing in their Class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognized board. There is no age limit for candidates appearing in the JEE Main. However, to move on to JEE Advanced, candidates must be among the top performers in JEE Main and meet additional conditions such as age and number of attempts which vary depending on the category of the candidate. For JEE Advanced, candidates can attempt the exam a maximum of two consecutive years and must have completed their Class 12 examination in the year prior to the exam or the year of the exam.
What is the exam Pattern?
The JEE Main exam consists of two papers. Paper 1 is for admission to B.E./B.Tech courses and is conducted in a Computer-Based Test format. It includes questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with a total of 90 questions, where 75 are to be attempted. Each subject is divided into two sections, including multiple-choice questions and questions whose answers are numerical values. The total marks for Paper 1 are 300. Paper 2 is for admission into B.Arch and B.Planning courses and has a different format including drawing tests and aptitude questions.
For JEE Advanced, the format is known to be more challenging, involving a comprehensive test of knowledge and application skills in the core subjects. The specifics of the pattern can vary each year with changes in the structure and types of questions.
